House Martin
Breeding house martins (Delichon urbica) arrive in the UK in April and May, with the breeding season taking place from May to August. They prefer to nest on top of eaves or under gables on houses, Not to be confused with: swallows, which have much longer tail streamers and a red throat.
Purple Martin
These birds tend to nest in eastern half of the USA and Canada. Purple Martins (progne subis) start nesting in late February in the South and as late as June in the North. Purple Martins are highly likely to return to successful breeding locations.
Swift
Swifts (Apodidae) search out nesting sites from mid-April until the end of July. Immature birds will seek nesting sites out in the next season. They like to live in houses and churches, squeezing through tiny gaps to nest. As there are less old houses around, their nesting sites have disappeared and hence nest boxes are vital.
Well-Proven Technique For Nest Sites
Tweeet is supplied in two versions. The battery powered device has no power leads or power supplies to worry about. The 4 x AA Alkaline batteries (supplied) last around 45 days depending on ambient temperature.
The 5V USB version is provided with a 10m lead that plugs into a standard 5V USB (type A) supply.
Tweeet will play Swift, House Martin or Purple Martin calls for around 2 hours after dawn bringing in new tenants. Optionally, it can be configured to play from dawn to dusk. Research has shown that birds are attracted to the sounds of other birds nesting and will seek a nesting site close by. Dawn calls have been shown to be the most effective.

Tweeet is effortless to use and easy to fix to a vertical surface close to the bird house or nesting box. Simply screw the supplied button into the surface. Tweeet is simply hooked onto the button. Simple to mount and easy to remove when the nesting season is finished.
